What Our PIs Will and Will Not Do Under Tennessee Law
Tennessee licenses private investigation agencies and sets limits on what they can do. Birds Eye PIs observe from places they have a right to be, record only what the law allows, and research records through lawful channels. We do not trespass, hack phones or accounts, obtain phone or bank records by pretexting, place GPS trackers on vehicles without the owner's consent, or pose as law enforcement.
Those limits protect you as much as they protect the person being investigated. Evidence gathered illegally can be thrown out, turned against the client, or lead to criminal and civil exposure. When a question can only be answered with protected records, such as bank statements or phone logs, we explain how your attorney can obtain them through subpoena or discovery and what we can lawfully do to point that request in the right direction.

Birds Eye reviews your goals first and then puts the scope, timeline and cost in writing before any work begins. Nothing is added without your approval, so you know what you are paying for from the start.
Is my conversation with Birds Eye confidential?
Yes. We keep client identities and case details private and limit access to the people working your matter. We do not contact the person you are asking about unless that is part of a plan you approve, such as serving papers or conducting an interview.
Can you work with my attorney?
Yes, and it often works best that way. Your attorney knows what facts the case needs and what deadlines apply. Birds Eye can take direction from counsel, report findings to the attorney, and prepare documentation with court use in mind. If you do not have an attorney yet, you can still talk with a licensed PI first.
Can you promise what an investigation will find?
No licensed PI agency can honestly promise a particular finding. What Birds Eye commits to is lawful, well-planned work and an honest report of what was observed and verified. If a case turns up nothing, the report explains what was checked, which is often useful information in itself.
How quickly can a case start?
Many cases can start within days of an approved scope, and some urgent matters sooner. Timing depends on the kind of work, the locations involved and how much information you can provide. If anyone is in danger, call 911 first; a PI agency is not an emergency service.
